Dan Craig at work in his cabinetry studio

A Cabinetmaker Who Answers the Phone.

Dan Craig Cabinetry was built on a simple premise: homeowners deserve a cabinetry partner who treats their kitchen or bath the way he would treat his own. That means honest timelines, clear pricing, materials that last a generation, and a finished result that actually matches what was promised at the consultation.

Dan has spent decades perfecting the craft of custom cabinetry in the northwest Chicago suburbs. Every project starts with a real conversation, not a sales pitch. Every cabinet leaves the shop built to the same standard, whether the job is a single bathroom vanity or a complete floor-to-ceiling kitchen remodel.

The work speaks for itself. The referrals keep coming. The phone gets answered.

Four Things Competitors
Cannot Match.

These are not marketing claims. They are material facts about how we build, what we source, and what ships standard on every project.

01

Full Floor-to-Ceiling Remodeling

Most cabinetry shops offer a limited menu. Dan Craig Cabinetry delivers the complete kitchen and bath remodel under one craftsman's eye: cabinetry, countertops, sinks, hardware, accessories, lighting integration, and finishing details. Start with a refacing conversation and scale to a full remodel without switching contractors.

Not just refacing
02

Solid 1/4" Real Wood Refacing

The refacing category is flooded with thermofoil and peel-and-stick laminate that bubbles, peels, and fails within a few years. We reface with solid 1/4" real wood. It will not peel, will not bubble, and can be sanded and refinished decades from now. A true cabinetry investment, not a cosmetic patch.

No veneer, no peel-and-stick
03

Wisconsin Sawmill and Sustainable Sourcing

We own more than 100 acres of Wisconsin land and operate our own sawmill. Premium hardwoods, including White Oak, Walnut, and Hard Maple, are sourced primarily from storm-damaged trees on our own property and milled in-house. No broker, no import chain, no quality drift.

Sustainably milled on our land
04

Blum Hardware and Dovetail Drawers Standard

What competitors charge as a premium upgrade ships standard on every Dan Craig Cabinetry project: Blum hinges and undermount soft-close drawer slides (lifetime warranty), and solid hardwood drawer boxes with dovetail joinery. No particle board. No low-end engineered substrate. Anywhere.

Premium standard, not an upgrade
Wisconsin property and sawmill operation

Over 100 Acres. One Sawmill. One Standard.

The Wisconsin property is not a marketing story. It is where the wood comes from. Premium hardwoods are harvested from naturally fallen and storm-damaged trees, milled on-site, and dried before they ever reach a cabinet shop.

This is a sustainability story almost no other cabinetmaker in the Chicago market can tell, and it produces material quality that a broker-sourced lumber chain simply cannot replicate.

Craftsmanship. Consultation. Materials. Completion.

Four pillars that define every project, from the first conversation to the final installation.

Craftsmanship

Every cabinet is built by hand to exact specification. No shortcuts, no particle board, no compromises on joinery, finish, or fit. The work is built to outlast the trend that inspired it.

Consultation

Dan works as a design partner, not an order taker. Every project begins with a real conversation about how the space is used, what the budget allows, and what the homeowner actually wants to live with for the next 20 years.

Materials

Premium hardwoods sourced from our Wisconsin property. Blum hardware standard on every custom line. Solid dovetail drawer boxes. The material story is honest because we control it from standing tree to finished door.

Completion

Projects finish on schedule, clean, and fully done. No punch-list left hanging, no installer who disappears after the cabinets are hung. The job is complete when the homeowner says it is complete.

Ready to Start a Conversation?

A free consultation with Dan is the first step. No pressure, no sales pitch. Just an honest conversation about your project and what it would take to do it right.
